Good News from the Philippines

Posted April 28, 2008 in GLS

Most of the news from Mindinao is bad, but Chris and Deb Hindal report good news from this remote island of the Philippines. Daniel and Ruthie Asuncion, members of the Bethel Baptist Church of Malaybalay, stepped away from the programs and facilities of the big church to reach the more poverty-stricken people in the rural mountains. Every Sunday they worship under a make-shift roof even using the shade of trees as some of their classrooms. Young families with children walk up to 2 hours along dirt mountain paths to receive both spiritual and physical nourishment.

Haiti in need

Posted in Partner Reports

Today there is a great need for prayer. Rising food costs have for some time now been creating immense tensions in one of world’s poorest countries. Dear Beloved:

God is doing great things for us in different ministries that we are involving. We continue to see many decisions made for the Lord Jesus Christ in our church, school and college. Recently, we presented a gift to the Governor of CNMI. He not only accepted the gift and also placed it on the hall of the government building. The gift is a parchment of “The Ten Commandments” in Hebrew language, which is about 200 years old.
