On Monday evening, January 18, a sensitive and anguished group of people sought the Lord for the healing of the nation of Haiti. Loved ones have slipped into eternity, many are still missing, thousands have been injured, homes have been destroyed, and there is a mass migration as people seek refuge in other parts of the country and into other lands. WILLIAMSBURG, Iowa—Harvest Baptist Church invited Chris and Deb Hindal to help them celebrate Thanksgiving at its Harvest Dinner on Sunday, Nov. 22. This church plant, which averages 160 on Sunday mornings, enjoys a beautiful and functional building that they use for the glory of God.
Chris presented Gospel Literature Services in the Sunday School hour, brought a missions challenge in the morning service, and shared an IPFBM presentation in the afternoon.
Harvest Baptist is an exciting ministry, as most of the congregation are first-generation Christians.
WA, Ghana—We met briefly at a pastors’ meeting under the shade of the mango and acacia trees in Wa, Ghana. These pictures are from our new outreach at Tanchara, a village near Lawra, where we have been serving the Lord for the past 36 years. The photos show the children enjoying Regular Baptist Press papers we occasionally share with them.
At this point of the year we have many reasons to praise God and thank Him for His works.
At the end of January, God sent Luis Escobar and his family to Tarapoto (Peruvian Northern rain forest). Luis is doing a wonderful job promoting in the new church a faithful obedience to the Great Commission. Recently, on Oct. 20, God sent David Toribio and his wife to Puerto Maldonado (Peruvian Southern rain forest). David is working with a core group of believers in that city, causing them to grow in order to reach the city, the natives beside the rivers, and areas of Brazil and Bolivia. Please pray for David; his vision is so big, but his resources very limited. (Read more of this article…)
HAITI—Please keep me in your prayers because I travel to Haiti on Tuesday, Nov. 10. I have meetings with 28 teachers at Bethel Hope Christian Schools and speak in four Bethel Baptist churches with their pastors for two weeks down there in Cap Haitian, north of Haiti. I will need thousands of dollars to help with the teachers’ and pastors’ salaries. Please keep this in your prayers.
